Privacy policy
Last updated 25 October 2026
vo2up is an endurance coaching service run from Sydney, Australia. It handles health information, so we treat your data with care. This policy explains what we collect, why, where it goes, and your rights under the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Account details: your name and email address.
- Training data you connect from intervals.icu: activities (power, heart rate, pace, GPS, duration), planned workouts, fitness metrics, and athlete notes.
- Health and wellness data: heart-rate variability, resting heart rate, sleep, recovery scores and body measurements from connected services. Also the check-ins you give us: energy, stress, mood, soreness, pain and injury history.
- Your profile: goals, events, weekly availability, experience and coaching preferences, from onboarding.
Health information is “sensitive information” under the Privacy Act 1988. We only collect it with your consent, and only because coaching you safely needs it.
How we use it
- To produce your readiness calls, session feedback, weekly reviews and training plans.
- To write planned workouts to your intervals.icu calendar, when you or your coach approve them.
- To flag signs of overtraining or injury risk.
- To run and improve the service, and to contact you about your account.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone not listed below.
Who processes it
- Supabase: our database, hosted in Sydney, Australia.
- Vercel: hosts the app. Requests may be served from overseas data centres.
- Anthropic: its Claude models write coaching text from your data. Requests are processed in the United States. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, your data is not used to train its models.
- intervals.icu, and any other service you choose to connect, under its own privacy policy.
Some of these providers process data outside Australia. We choose providers with strong security, and we send them only what the service needs.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access tokens for connected services are stored encrypted. Each athlete can only see their own data; coaches see only the athletes they coach.
Your choices and rights
- Disconnect any service at any time; we stop reading from it immediately.
- Ask to see, correct, export or delete your data.
- Close your account. We delete your data within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep it.
Email hi@vo2up.com. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Not medical advice
vo2up gives training guidance, not medical advice. Talk to a doctor or physiotherapist about pain, injury, or any health condition, and before starting a new training programme.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will tell you before the change takes effect.
